Job Description

The Archdiocese of Boston serves 1.8 million Catholics across 144 communities in Eastern Massachusetts. In a time of meaningful renewal — marked by growth in vocations, revitalized faith formation, and renewed engagement across parishes and ministries — we are seeking a Grant Writer / Corporate & Foundation Manager to help expand and sustain this vital work.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, mission-driven grant professional to build and manage an institutional giving program that supports parishes, ministries, and historic Catholic institutions throughout Greater Boston.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Catholic Community Fund, the Grant Writer / Corporate & Foundation Manager will identify, secure, and steward funding from foundations, corporations, and public sources, with a primary focus on capital, preservation, renovation, and restoration projects, as well as select programmatic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and pursue foundation, corporate, and public grant opportunities aligned with Archdiocesan priorities
  • Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals and supporting materials
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive grants calendar, including reporting and compliance requirements
  • Support parishes with capital and preservation funding, including landmark-related grant processes
  • Collaborate with finance and project teams to develop budgets, timelines, and cost estimates
  • Steward foundation relationships through reporting, communication, and site visits
  • Partner with Development and Communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective storytelling
  • Track awarded funds and prepare required grant reports
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master’s preferred
  • Proven experience in grant research, writing, and reporting; experience with capital, renovation, or preservation funding strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with close attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment
  • Experience working with budgets and financial documentation
  • Appreciation for and commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church
Why Join Us
  • Mission-driven work with meaningful, visible impact across Greater Boston
  • Opportunity to shape and grow an institutional grants program
  • Collaborative, values-centered workplace
  • Engagement with historic institutions and forward-looking ministries
Salary range $85,000 -$100,000
