Modality: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing(Itinerant)
Location: Northwest Suburban Chicago
Local Pay Rate: $55
Assignment Type: Leave of Absence Coverage
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 1, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours/week (7 hours/day)
Position Type: In-Person Only (Remote applicants will not be considered)
Caseload: Approx. 20-30 students across 10-15 schools
Age Group: Preschool through High School
Travel: Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travelbetween schools during the workday. Mileage reimbursement provided.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher of theDeaf and Hard of Hearing to provide itinerant services to students rangingfrom preschool to high school across multiple school sites in northwestsuburban Chicago. This is a full-time, in-person leave replacement position.
Requirements:
+ Must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
+ Itinerant experience preferred
+ Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
+ Must be comfortable commuting between multiple school sites
+ Must have a valid driver's license
Additional Information:
+ School/Program: Itinerant - candidate must confirm ability and willingness to commute
+ District Onboarding Requirements: Provided upon offer acceptance
+ Feedback Loop: < 48 hours
+ Premium Requirements: Realistic commitment to substitutes < 1 week
