Job Description

Starting pay rate is $22.00 per hour, higher depending on level of mechanic experience.   Local candidates only.

The Small Engine Mechanic will be able to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and perform necessary repairs after diagnosis. Primary job focus includes inspection, diagnosis, and repair of small equipment, light duty trailers, and machines, like trucks, forklifts and trailers. The Mechanic will possess  in-depth  knowledge of small engine systems, components, and their unique characteristics, thus allowing them to diagnose and repair issues.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment, then perform repairs following diagnosis.
• Possess basic Excel experience for data input.
• Demonstrate experience in maintaining tools.
• Operate efficiently and with high focus and attention to detail. 
• Assist in writing safety and maintenance department procedures.
• Demonstrate good communication skills with equipment operators, vendors, and more.
• Demonstrate flexibility to move from one job to another based-on priority
• Conduct field visits in case of fleet emergencies or malfunctions.
• Be willing to work overtime as business load requires. 
• Participate in shop provided training.
• May assist warehouse staff with pulling and preparing orders for shipment, as well as receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking all incoming material.
• Perform all other duties as assigned. 
• Always make safety a priority.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Communication skills to speak with customers by telephone, email, or in-person, bilingual preferred

· Strong knowledge of health and safety standards.

· Conflict resolution skills.

· Ability to repeat the same or similar tasks multiple times per day.

· Excellent time management skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.

Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED equivalent.

1+ years of proven experience as a Mechanic.

· Clean driving record.

· Must pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

· Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

· Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.

· Alert, focused, and detail oriented.

· Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. at a time.

Expected Work Hours:

· Monday – Saturday with early and extended hours required according to workload.
