Job Description

Marketing Director

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Type: Full Time | Reports to: General Manager & Ownership

Compensation: Competitive salary + benefits

Welcome to St. Pete Athletic

We’re not just operating a club—we’re building a community, a standard, and a vibe. Think urban country club. St. Pete Athletic is where sport, hospitality, and social energy collide. With 14 pickleball courts, 2 padel courts, dedicated table tennis spaces, a full-service restaurant and bar, and amenities ranging from coworking to wellness to a garden oasis—it’s a place to play, connect, and belong.

But our real secret? Hospitality. The kind you feel, not just see. We believe in creating moments that surprise and delight. And we’re looking for a Director of Marketing & Engagement who lives and breathes that philosophy.

The Opportunity

As our Marketing director, you’ll own the full storytelling, creative direction, and strategy that bring St. Pete Athletic’s brand and community to life. You’ll lead our marketing efforts across digital, social, print, events, and in-club experiences—creating a unified, premium brand presence that attracts new members, delights current ones, and positions the club as a hospitality and lifestyle leader in Tampa Bay.

This role is for a dynamic marketer who thrives on collaboration, creative execution, and balancing brand-building with data-driven strategy. You’ll work across every team—from athletics to F&B to retail—to weave a consistent, compelling narrative that celebrates our members, energizes our guests, and activates our community.

What You’ll Do

Brand, Strategy, & Content

  • Own the full marketing vision and budget—building the strategy, voice, and playbook that brings St. Pete Athletic’s mission to life across every touchpoint.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to promote the club’s brand, programs, and experiences.
  • Create compelling content reflecting the club’s lifestyle, athletic culture, and member community—both independently and with agency partners.
  • Manage digital marketing efforts including social media, email campaigns, website updates, advertising, and SEO.
  • Oversee brand consistency across internal and external communications, signage, and collateral to maintain a premium, cohesive aesthetic.
  • Track campaign performance, engagement metrics, and ROI using analytics tools to guide strategy and creative decisions.
  • Manage vendor relationships for design, printing, advertising, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor member and guest feedback, market trends, and competitor activity to inform ongoing strategy.

Internal Marketing (for Members)

  • Produce in-club communications (screens, signage, newsletters, app notifications) that inform, inspire, and drive member participation.
  • Gather and act on member feedback to continuously refine engagement strategies and elevate the in-club experience.

External Marketing (to the Public & Corporate)

  • Lead F&B marketing efforts, showcasing our culinary experiences through brand-aligned storytelling and promotions.
  • Maintain and grow the club’s online presence across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Google, Tripadvisor, etc.).
  • Curate storytelling content that features members, staff, and behind-the-scenes moments to deepen community connection.
  • Develop and execute targeted campaigns to drive membership inquiries, corporate event bookings, and brand partnerships.
  • Coordinate with PR and media partners to amplify St. Pete Athletic’s unique story and positioning in the market.
  • Manage sponsorships, activations at community events, and plan signature club activations to extend our brand into the wider community.

Who You Are

  • You’ve built marketing programs for lifestyle, hospitality, luxury, or high-end fitness brands—balancing creativity with measurable results.
  • You’re an exceptional storyteller who can translate a brand mission into engaging visuals, words, and experiences.
  • You thrive on collaboration across diverse teams and departments, bringing ideas to life with positivity and precision.
  • You’re organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and creative partners simultaneously.
  • You bring strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms, tools, and analytics.
  • You’re passionate about building community, creating culture, and crafting moments that people talk about.

Bonus

  • Experience with graphic design and creative production, enabling faster concept development and hands-on execution when needed.
  • Comfort managing and updating websites, landing pages, and digital content to support campaigns, events, and membership growth.
  • Familiarity with photo and video direction—working with photographers, videographers, or capturing content in-house to tell the St. Pete Athletic story across platforms.
  • Experience with taking photos and videos yourself, being a creative behind the lense.

Our Promise to You

We want this to be the best job you’ve ever had. That means:

A voice at the table as we shape this club together.

Opportunities to grow professionally and personally.

A culture where excellence, joy, and kindness coexist.

Access to our full club membership and wellness offerings.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
