Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client—a rapidly growing, publicly traded company in the Oil & Gas sector—is seeking a  Financial Reporting Analyst to take full ownership of all SEC and public company compliance filings. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone with deep knowledge of financial reporting requirements and a passion for accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.

This is not just another reporting role—you will be the go-to expert for all external financial reporting, including the preparation and submission of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks. If you're looking to step into a role that offers autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to grow alongside a dynamic business, we’d love to hear from you.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of  SEC filings including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and other required disclosures, ensuring compliance with  SEC, FASB, and US GAAP standards.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the  external reporting calendar , including timelines, reviews, internal approvals, and audit readiness.
  • Work closely with  internal accounting, legal, investor relations, and executive teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across all public disclosures.
  • Draft and maintain  financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A sections of public filings.
  • Interface with external auditors and legal counsel to support audit processes and public filings.
  • Ensure  SOX compliance as it relates to financial reporting processes and internal controls.
  • Continuously monitor and implement  new accounting standards and SEC regulations , preparing technical memos as needed.
  • Assist with  earnings release preparation and other investor communications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in  Accounting, Finance, or related field ; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial reporting, ideally within a  public company or Big 4 environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of  SEC reporting requirements, US GAAP, and SOX compliance .
  • Prior experience with  EDGAR filings Workiva , or other financial reporting tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional  attention to detail , organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across departments and with senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in  Microsoft Excel and experience with  ERP systems and  financial consolidation tools .
